The genesis of Butterfly Home Appliances began over five decades back in an era when brass was still considered a wonder metal. Late V. Murugesa Chettiar discovered a golden opportunity in stainless steel kitchenware and thus began the journey of a pioneer in this industry. The Butterfly Group was the first to introduce stainless kitchenware and cookware in India with its range of Butterfly kitchenware and Butterfly cookware in those days. The company was formally incorporated in 1986 as Gandhimati Appliances Limited and within a span of 4 years had become a Public Limited Company by 1990. Butterfly home appliances and Butterfly kitchen appliances are now exported to other countries like UK, Canada, Australia, Japan and South East Asia among others.
